Volunteer Positions:
President

President presides over meetings of organization and executive board, serves as primary contact for principal, coordinates work of all officers and committees so the purpose of organization is served. The President position is the second year of a two year term.
Vice President
2023-2024: Rebekah Safar

Vice President will preside over meetings of organization and executive board when President is absent. the VP position will also serve as the teacher liaison, and work on events such as Poetry night and Field Day. The VP will transition to President the second year of their term.
Treasurer

Treasurer recieves all funds of the organization, keep acurate record of receipts and expenditures, and pays out funds in accordance of the executive board. Presents a financial statement when requested by the board and full report at year end. This is a two year term.
Annual Appeal

Work with treasurer and presidents to obtain budget information. Create advertising campaign which may include flyers, emails, mailed letters and social media outreach. This is a yearly fundraiser and can be done virtually.
Fun-a-Thon

Plan and execute fundraiser using fundraising software. Advertise to the school body using social media, flyers, and emails. Gather school appropriate prizes for raffle and fundraising winners. Plan at school event for students.
Spirit Wear

Work with spiritwear company to create store for MMES students, parents, and staff. In charge advertising at after school events and using online presence. Much of this is online.

Enrichment Co-Chairs

Coordinate with teachers to find and schedule curriculum enhancing events for each grade level. Work with treasurer and presidents to create a budget to finance enrichment events. Create enrichment committee assist to with grant writing and scheduling.
Teacher Appreciation
2023-2024: Vicki Donnellan
2024-2025: Jen Migonis
Manages calendar, donations and volunteers for staff appreciation luncheons on a monthly basis. Plans out Teacher Appreciation week in the spring.
Secretary and Social Media
2023-2024: Miriam McAvoy

Maintain and update website, facebook, and Instagram with upcoming events and volunteer opportunities. Work with other committees to ensure all events are advertised. Take notes during PTO meetings and keep records accessible on PTO Drive.
Directory

Collect contact information for all families participating in the directory. Manage production of printed directory sale and distribution of directory for sale to Memorial parents.
5th Grade Coordinator
2023-2024: Christina Yukins, Amy Lage, and Vicki Donnellan

Work with 5th grade teachers to plan, organize, and facilitate activities for the graduating class. You will have a team of other 5th grade parents to help execute the events for 5th grade including the play, fun field trip week, and graduation ceremony.
Yearbook

Create yearbook using yearbook software. Point person for student and class photos. Be in contact with teachers and room parents to obtain photos from in class activities. Work with exec board to create budget for yearbook.
Corporate Sponsors

Help PTO find and corporate sponsors. Without corporate sponsors, it is difficult to put together community events like the Back to school Bash.
Hit the Street 5k

Create committee to plan and execute 5k race and fun dash. Works with town and police to confirm race route.
Original Art Works

Help our art teacher organize an art project that all students create. Much of this is online. This is a PTO fundraiser. We will be switching companies from Original Works to Square 1 Art for the 24-25 school year. It will be more digitized than previous years.
Fall Bingo Night

Plan and execute fan favorite Family Bingo Night.
Room Parent Coordinator

Coordinates room parent placements and responsibilities; facilitate interactions with Staff and Administration. Also distributes information about PTO events and volunteer opportunities.
Book Fair

Plan and organize a fall and spring book fair. you will also work with Ms. Silag to create a book selection geared for this school.
School Supply Boxes

School Supply Packs are a service that the PTO offers for parents to order the next year's school supplies online. You would work with teachers to get supply lists, and be the point person for the ordering company.
